Tom has been a supply chain professional for 23 years, the last 17 of which have been focused on health sector supply chains in Sub Saharan Africa.

Tom lived and worked in southern Africa for eleven years (2004-2015) leading major national supply chain transformation efforts in Zambia and Botswana; more recently, he worked with the Ministry of Healthcare in Ukraine to help improve performance in the public sector medicine supply chain.

Between 2017 and 2020 Tom worked at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation where he designed and managed investments aimed at increasing access to medicine for some of the world’s poorest populations.

He graduated from Reading University in 1995 with a Bachelor’s degree in Classics, and has more recently completed post graduate studies in supply chain management with Cranfield University.
