Joanna’s primary focus is on research and policy analysis. She holds an MSc in African Studies from the University of Oxford, where she specialised in development policy, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Durham. Most of her work is on Africa, particularly on Uganda and Ethiopia. She initially joined PSA in 2017 as a Research Officer.
Joanna has worked on development projects for a range of donors including the UK Government Department for International Development (DFID), European Commission, UN, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. She has contributed to projects in the areas of health policy, humanitarian logistics, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, and Monitoring & Evaluation, among others.
